The Monkey and the Fishermen

Pokemon will always be a popular beast. With Pokemon Sun and Moon as such a hit, Pokemon GO is endlessly popular, and the - uh - slightly broken and sudden Pokemon Duel as just a few of the titles released in the past year, Splash! Magikarp might be one of the more bizarre ones.

Gematsu reported on it yesterday after Splash! Magikarp's announcement came in the form of a webpage (displayed like a newspaper clipping). Developed by Select Button, this upcoming iOS and Android title should be with us in Spring 2017.

True to form, however, there's little else to note other than the Magikarp-shaped holes in the ground. Translation from the website's clipping says that the holes were discovered by a fisherman and that there'd be an investigation into the cause.

I'd like to think that this all came about because of that Pokemon Sun and Moon gamer who bossed through the game with just a Magikarp, but that's probably too much of a romantic notion. We'll let you guys know when we find out more.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is coming out on December 7th 2018 for Switch - that's only about six months away.

Nintendo has revealed its entire roster for the game and holy heck, there's a lot of them - in fact, every character from the series so far is returning for the game, with Inklings joining as a new character alongside the much-requested Ridley.

You can check out the full list below, but hey! Ice Climbers are back! And Snake! So this is pretty exciting. And Daisy has been added to the list as an "echo fighter", mirroring Peach.

You won't get every character from the start though - you'll start with a handful, but will constantly be unlocking new ones as you go.

Some characters will have new outfits and abilities to keep them up to date with their most recent outings - Link, for example, is wearing his Hyrule Tunic from Breath of the Wild, for example.
MarioSamusKirbyBowserLinkDonkey KongFoxFalcoMarthZeldaSheikVillagerMeta KnightMewtwoSonicPeachPikachuIce ClimbersInklingCaptain FalconZero Suit SamusWii Fit TrainerSquirtleCharizardIvysaurLucasNessRyuGanondorfIkeCloudSnakeJigglypuffPichuRoyOlimarDiddy KongLucarioLucinaRobinBayonettaMr Game and WatchGreninjaDr MarioROBDuck HuntPitDark PitPalutenaCorrinBowser JrToon LinkYoung LinkKing DededeRosalinaThe Mii FightersWarioLittle MacPac-ManShulkWolfMega ManLuigiYoshiDaisyRidley"Don't, Leslie," implored Anne, "oh, don't. Updated May 11th, 10:49 AM: Well, I guess JOYCITY must enjoy surprising us because Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War has launched worldwide on iOS and Android.
Grab the game free-to-play on the App Store or on Google Play now.

Pre-registrations are now open for the upcoming mobile MMO Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War on iOS and Android.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War is a strategy game inspired by the popular Disney films, the most recent of which will be releasing in a couple of months.

In the game, you'll embody pirates in the franchise's world and experience various strategies through building and ship construction, battle monsters, and perhaps encounter familiar characters.

"We're confident that this mobile game will align with the quality and high entertainment value that fans have come to expect from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise," said Hanseo Jo, JoyCity. "Players will be able to experience the same fun and excitement from the game as they've felt from the movies themselves."

Though there's not much information out at the moment, I can only assume that the release would be featured around the theatrical launch of PotC 5, but we'll have to see.

Pre-register through their official website here.

Benjamin Rivers has announced that his lo-fi horror adventure Home will be out for PS Vita on April 15th.

What this means is that a) you should prepare yourself to be spooked, and b) that I lied to you when I said it would come out on Vita last year. I'm sorry.

The good news is that Vita players in Europe and the US gets Home on the same day. That doesn't happen often enough.

I guess there should always be some bad news now as well, huh? Well, the game does have you waking up in a dingy house that's not yours and with a pain in your leg.

Information is slowly trickling out about Square Enix's upcoming Dragon Quest Builders 2, and now we have some new screenshots to give us a slightly better sense of the game.

The screenshots show us the main characters within a block-like world, which we know from previous reports can be broken up for building materials and supplies.

The images are lovely, but the most interesting aspect is the fact that a couple of them show the ability to play in first-person mode as you venture across the wilds.

If your block-building appetite is whetted, take a look at some of the other details we know about the game, or check out who it is you'll be facing off against.

The Gold Award-winning Rayman Jungle Run is on sale on iOS once again.

If you haven't picked it up yet then now would be a good time to. Instead of paying £1.99 / $2.99, you only have to throw 69p / 99c at your phone to get one of best platformers on mobile.

No, really, in our review we said: "This fast, tense, beautiful game is everything you loved about Rayman Origins, now perfectly suited to touch."

And by "suited to touch," we're referring to the one-touch controls. Rayman runs automatically across hand-crafted levels, so you just tap to tell him when to jump.

It works and it's a lot of fun, especially with Ubisoft's sprightly animations and musical twists.

His phoenix down began but to appear,
There's nothing worse in Asphalt 9: Legends than being seconds away from stealing first place, only to have someone come up from behind and take your prize by a nose. Actually, there is - going back and watching the replay of that horrible person coming up behind you and crushing your car just before the finish line.

But that's exactly what Redditor Groundbreaking_Dingo experienced recently, in a video shared over on the Asphalt 9 subreddit. They've just smashed an opponent to death, hit a tasty looking jump, and BAM! - crushed to death by an unseen racer. Check it out below.
Death from Above (ouch) from r/Asphalt9
Ouch indeed. It's the way the car skitters over the finish line in a blaze of glory, before having to respawn and give it another go. Gets me every time. And I've watched this video a few times now because how can you not?

To their credit, Groundbreaking_Dingo does note further down that they tend to wreck their opponents just seconds before the finish line as well, so they had it coming really. All's fair in love and racing, after all. Pretty sure that's how that quote goes, anyway.

Still, it just goes to show that you can never be too careful out there on the racetrack. You never know who's gonna come racing up behind you. And then on top of you. Brutal.

Be sure to check out our own wonderful tips, tricks, guides, and whatever other coverage we've done on Asphalt 9: Legends over in our dedicated game hub. There's tons of stuff on there, and we update it pretty regularly, so you're sure to find something to suit you.

Got any epic crashes you want to share with us? Let us know in the comments below and we might even feature it on the site some time.

It seems like prices are dropping like flies lately. Microïd's 13 year old adventure game Syberia is the latest to receive a price cut, dropping down to 79p / 99c on iPhone and iPad for one day only.

For those who have yet to play it, now might well be the time to start. There's a sequel out already, and a third game in the series is due sometime this year.

Just keep in mind that it is an old game. Back when it was first ported as an episodic game, our reviewer said that "even with a nip and tuck here and there Syberia is showing its age."

But if that price point is just too tempting for you, you can grab it from the App Store.
&#;
