<p>If you've been patiently watching the recent announcement-style video events and thinking 'But, what about mobile games?' then you don't have to wonder any longer. We here at Pocket Gamer have been working away on the idea for a new event for quite some time and we think it's time that you finally knew about it.</p><p>Pocket Gamer LaunchPad is the world's first digital event to focus specifically on mobile games; we're going to have daily videos going out on Twitch as well as in-depth coverage of the news here on the website.</p><p>That news will be us covering recent launches, upcoming titles, significant updates to existing games and much, much more. There's going to be lots to see, and lots to talk about, so it's worth marking the date in your diary.</p><p>The first LaunchPad will take place from July 23rd through to July 25th. It's going to feature OVER 40 EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENTS from companies like 11-bit Studios, Netease, Tencent and Pearl Abyss - and with sponsors like Oasis Games, PUBG Mobile, Gameloft, Bandai Namco and Super Evil Megacorp, well... it's going to be one for the record books.</p><p>We think that this is the best time for an event of this fashion. <p>It's almost the end of another week and I'll admit I've had no idea what day was what. Luckily, it's Thursday which means we get to look at what fantastic new games we get to play this weekend.</p><p>This list may not be gargantuan, but I've already found a new favourite on it at the very least. Which games will catch your eye? Let's take a look. Almost There</p>Platform: iOSPrice: F2P<p>This minimalist platformer is sure to tickle the fancy of you Super Meat Boy lovers out there, at the very least. Its one finger controls make for a hardcore experience where you can't really blame your failures on the controls. Sorry, kids.</p>Among the StarsPlatform: iOS/AndroidPrice: £4.99/$4.99 or cheaper<p>Digital board game fans, you're in for a treat this week as Among the Stars finally lands on mobile. Build your base, manage your resources, adapt to different races of alien, choose the correct strategy, and more.</p>Be ZeroPlatform: iOS/AndroidPrice: £1.99/$1.99 or cheaper<p>Get sci-fi vibes in this puzzler and start working that ol' brain of your. It's a simple goal - get every number down the zero - but, we know that's never the case during play.</p>BombarikaPlatform: iOSPrice: 99p/99c<p>Spot the bombs and push them out of the room you're in using the items around you in this curious puzzler. There's no plot or story, just a house to save and an endgame to get to. Simples.</p>Dust and SaltPlatform: iOS (also on Android)Price: £2.99/$2.99 or cheaper<p>Love turn-based tactical games? Love narrative text adventures? Well then, this will be right up your street. Choose between force and diplomacy on the path to avenging your father's death.</p>Girls FrontlinePlatform: iOS/AndroidPrice: F2P <p>In 2060 after the war has been plunged into the chaos of war, use real-time strategies, 100+ characters, skill upgrades, and more to beat your enemies. Also, enjoy a cast of Japanese voice actors to make the game really pop off the screen.</p>Lost Horizon 2Platform: Android (also on iOS)Price: £4.99/$4.99 or cheaper<p>Set ten years after the first in its series, it's time to return to the world of Lost Horizon as Fenton Paddock sets off on a new adventure. It's a bit of a monster download, though, so do make sure you've got enough space for it on your device.</p>My Child LebensbornPlatform: AndroidPrice: £2.59<p>This story-driven game may have pleasant graphics and a nice style to it, but there's a lot more to take in. Set in 1950s Norway, the game follows your story as you raise a Lebensborn child (a child with a German father) and help guide them through a hostile society.</p>Super Doggo Snack TimePlatform: iOS/AndroidPrice: F2P<p>You don't have to have owned a dog before to know they sure do love to eat, and what a good doggo this is. This doggo's around to save your rug from getting all messy by eating whatever falls off the table, but only with your help.</p>Tiny BubblesPlatform: iOSPrice: £2.99/$2.99<p>If you're after a cool puzzler which puts its own spin on an aging genre, this is definitely one you need. You'll match different coloured bubbles and watch them pop and shrink as you solve the levels. It really is neat, so be sure to check it out.</p><p>Indie dev Edmund McMillen says he is now focused on mobile platformer Super Meat Boy Forever, after taking a break from game development, and working on barmy PC game Fingered.</p><p>He told Destructoid "Super Meat Boy Forever is back in development again and is my primary project at this point now that [Binding of Isaac DLC] Afterbirth is basically complete on my end and Fingered is [almost] out".</p><p>Forever is the long-awaited touch-friendly version of the uber popular Xbox Live Arcade platformer.</p><p>It's an all new game - to "avoid tacking bad controls on an existing design" - and is about aping the pinpoint precision and surprisingly deep moveset of Meat Boy, but without the use of multiple virtual buttons and sticks.</p><p>Despite the name, it's not an endless runner - but will have an endless mode.</p><p>As for Mewgenics, Team Meat's even longer-anticipated cat lady simulator: that is "on hold till after Forever is out", says McMillen, "the only target release is 'when its done'".</p>
